My grandmother always said to plant rosemary for remembrance.

How poetic that this huge one behind me should be in the Historic Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, GA, alongside the graves of Confederate and Union Soldiers.

Lest we forget.🌹

  1. Hi Renee!
I’m too didn’t know the meaning of the herb Rosemary. I love it’s smell! I’ve never, ever seen one so big and tall as the one pictured behind you. Wow!
    d.

  2. Bittersweet, it is.
Your Grandma sounds like a lovely lady.
That tree is the largest Rosemary I ever seen, I didn’t know it grew so massive.
Rosemary smells like Christmas to me.
    Great photo. 🙂

  3. I also did not know this about rosemary, one of my favorite herbs and plants…one of the few that will actually thrive under the care of my black thumbs! But I can’t even imagine a plant as large as that tree! It must smell like heaven! Maybe that is the link to the deceased? 😉
