Reading from The Haunting of William Gray

Thu. Dec. 3, 5:30 pm Local Author Renee Canter Johnson is back to introduce, discuss, sign, and answer any questions about her new book, The Haunting of William Gray.

Please join me if you are able to be in the area on Thursday, December 3rd, as I return to the lovely Wilkes County Library for a reading and discussion of my latest novel, The Haunting of William Gray.

Renee Johnson is the author of Acquisition, and The Haunting of William Gray.  She is currently working on a Young Adult novel, while editing a suspense novel which has international flair–an homage to her love of travel and foreign food.  She lives on a farm in North Carolina with her husband, Tony Johnson, and one very spoiled German shepherd named Gretel.

  1. If I lived close I would love to join you there. GOOD LUCK for Thursday. Have you done many such events? I would be terribly nervous. Best wises. 😀

    1. Thank you Annika. I wish you did live close by. Friendly faces are treasures. I have held a few readings, but not many, and this is the first for The Haunting of William Gray. Deciding on the passage to read as we speak. Hmmm.

      1. How did it go for you last night? Were there drinks and nibbles afterwards to socialise with everyone? Will you perhaps put the passage you read out as a post? So many questions…

  2. Congratulations on the reading. I’ve never been to one but it sounds like fun. I wish I lived closer, I’d be there with bells on. I’m so happy for you.
Wishing you all the best on your road to success. 🙂

    1. Oh, thank you. I’d love to see you in the audience. What fun that would be! It’s nice to read in my hometown library too, and to see my books on their shelves. Rewarding!!

      1. Hello Renee, You truly are one talented lady.
I spent parts of the Holiday and all afternoon this past Sunday reading ‘The Haunting of William Gray’.
You have a wonderful way with words. Your descriptions are quite visual. You give believable life to your characters.
It was neat learning the bits about wine you blended nicely into the story.
I really enjoyed your nostalgic and intriguing romantic paranormal tale.
I think it would have been fun to have been at your reading.
Which part did you read aloud?

You should record a reading and post it here on your blog.

        Wishing you continued success.
        🙂

        1. Oh wow, what a lovely comment. I am so glad to hear you enjoyed the novel. It was so much fun to write! I wanted to include a segment in the reading that would give the audience a sense of all main characters, so I read from the passage where Madeline is arriving at the estate house in time for the party. It has been the only reading I wasn’t nervous about because it was just joyful for me. I love your idea about the video recording. I’ll try to get that accomplished this year. Thank you and Happiest of New Years to you!!

  3. If I were nearby, I would definitely be there in person, Renee; but I will be there in spirit, of course.
Will be thinking of you tomorrow. It will be wonderful. Hugs.

  4. Colorado is just TOO far away, Renee. 😦 I hope your reading was wonderfully well attended with people who knew how lucky they were to be there! 🙂

    1. Well, I’m just going to have to travel out there to hold a reading. LOL. Thank you for the kind words. It was wonderful. The audience was a nice mixture and asked great questions. Fun!
